Trinidad and Tobago

First Runners Up in the 2008 CNA Jean Pierre U16 Tournament, Trinidad and Tobago, have a lot to smile about. There were flawless up to the Jamaica match in which their bodies were on the court, but the competitive spirit which was present in the other matches was absent.

Be that as it may, the Trinis were tough cookies. Their heavy set goal keeper, Latoya Thomas, although not very mobile was able to off set the competition with her wrestler type play. In fact, it was as a result of her wrestling match with Jamaica's 6ft 9ins shooter, Marvadene Anderson, that the shooter was exposed to what appeared to be her first toss up. That was a moment worth catching on tape.

Centre, Aeisha Collins was judged the Most Valuable player on the Trinidad team. She however did not make it on the top 16 Players in the tournament list. This honour went to Jellene Richardson, Shantelle Small and Samantha Wallace. Wallace also had the highest score in the shooting competition 51 of 65, and the team placed 2nd to in that competition.

Trinidad again took home the Best Team on Parade trophy which was donated by the Trinidad Netball Association and were also the Best Uniform team. This trophy was donated by Her Excellency Lady Williams of Grenada. Special mention was also made of them in the Best Team Spirit category.

The Team
Samantha Wallace, Shantelle Small, Sashelle Small, Aeisha Collins, Amanda Cameron, Jellene Richardson, Latoya Thomas
